Welcome to Sandcastles Nursery

Welcome to Sandcastles Nursery

At Sandcastles Nursery we are committed to providing a high quality early years education from the ages of two years upwards that instills a life-long love of learning and provides children with a happy and secure start to school life.  We are open all year round from 8am until 5.30pm.

Sandcastles Nursery is very proud of the fact that we have been graded as Outstanding by both Ofsted in September 2014   and by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in February 2016; to read the full Ofsted Report please click hereRead the full (ISI) reports here  The reports and our families highlight that:

  • In the Early Years our children are active learners who pursue their ideas creatively through explorative play and discovery. They love to find out and make rapid progress.
  • Great relationships are key to success and children and adults are always to be heard talking, listening, reading, laughing and understanding each other as trust and confidence grow and learning goes on. It is a happy, confident and safe place to be and do.
  • Because each unique child is so well known to the team, individual needs are very well catered for and each child is appropriately supported and ready for the next stage.
  • The Leadership and Early Years teams strive to give our young learners the very best start at St Faith’s, constantly inviting them to enjoy school life and love learning through our vibrant, exciting and purposeful experience.
  • Our parents and families are very involved too, sharing and enjoying this Early Years journey. We want you to feel respected, included and valued.

Our Approach

We are fully committed to the purpose and aims of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (2014) ensuring that children in our Early Years provision take their first steps on their journeys to becoming ‘Successful Learners.’

Our fairy godmothers of Sandcastles aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for every child in a happy, caring, secure, stimulating and safe environment. Children are treated as individuals; fostering their confidence, independence and desire to learn. We encourage positive social relationships thus developing self-esteem and respect for others and the community.  We work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure that children are provided with the skills that they require in order to become successful life-long learners.

 Vision Statement

Here at Sandcastles Nursery, we aim to:

  • Be a safe and happy place where everyone is known and valued, and where needs are acknowledged, accepted and met.
  • We promote high expectations and encourage children to thrive and achieve their potential in a safe, stimulating and secure environment; fostering their ability to be independent, curious, creative and resilient learners. We aim for children to be happy, healthy, enthusiastic and confident.
  • Encourage each child to become independent and self disciplined and to develop a sense of responsibility for themselves and respect for others and the environment.
  • Provide a stimulating range of activities; including specialist teaching in the areas of music, French and sport for the older Nursery children.
  • To develop a “can and will do” attitude that will stay with a child for life by providing a positive foundation for life-long learning.
  • To develop a child’s self esteem.
  • To value and incorporate all aspects of children’s lives by building strong partnerships with families and the community.
  • Provide opportunities for children to be fully involved in life at St Faith’s Prep School by participating in important events and celebrations.
  • Ensure that we foster the spirit of adventure, fun and laughter in our learning
  • Tell each child’s story through their unique stories?
