Jolly Geography & History Trip

Year 5 children travelled to Margate to learn about the regeneration of the area and to gather land use data to compare different parts of the town. This useful data will support this term's Geography topic and enable the children to see and understand the area for themselves.

They also visited the Margate Museum, to find out about the history of the area, and the Tudor House which dates back to 1525. They enjoyed trying on a range of Tudor hats and finding out about the lives of poor Tudor children. Fortunately, children no longer have to eat rats, gulls and squirrels, and we all had fish and chips (and an ice-cream) instead! This gave the children the energy they needed to keep going on such an action-packed day.

Miss Sue Waller of Margate Museum said "The children were absolutely delightful, interested and engaged throughout.See you next year!"
