Game on - Year 6 Leavers vs Staff and Parents

Game On!  So it was the big one, Year 6 leavers vs Staff and Parents.

Cricket

With a wealth of talent on both sides the annual Parent v Pupil Cricket match was all set for a magnificent contest in the beautiful back drop of a lovely sunny setting. The boys batted first putting on an unassailable score of 135 against some quite challenging bowling.  The boys then set an attacking field against the parents who started with gusto putting on 36 runs in three overs. Wickets then started to tumble and suddenly the parents were staring defeat in the face and collapsed posting a total of 85 runs. I had every confidence that there were going to be some difficult conversations in the cars on the way home, and the children can certainly hold their heads high.

Rounders

Whilst the cricket match was being played an equally challenging and competitive game of rounders was in play.  This time the parents won by a close margin of 15.5 to 12.5.  Mrs Latham said we had to mention Mr Wyon’s sneaky left                 offside-flick, some very excellent fielding from Henry and an endearing comment from Emily who bowled her Mum and shouted “Well done you hit it”.

Great fun was had by all.
